How do we drop thoughts?

Stop holding onto thoughts; become the witness, and they will naturally dissolve into stillness.

— Osho
According to Osho, you don't 'drop' thoughts by fighting them; you stop holding them. Like an unclenched fist, the mind opens when you end identification. Notice each thought as something passing—'anger is here,' not 'I am angry'—and remember, 'This too will pass.' By remaining the witness, separateness emerges, clinging loosens, and thoughts naturally dissolve into meditative stillness.

Stop trying to push thoughts away; just watch them come and go without calling them “me,” and they fade by themselves.
