According to Osho, Mahavira did not 'become' a monk by seeking outside; saintliness is not manufactured but arises from silent inner transformation. He never told people to become monks—only to see their un-saintliness. When awareness flowers within, outer renunciation may appear naturally, but it’s merely a byproduct, not the path; wandering and costumes cannot deliver the inner Supreme.
He didn’t go searching outside; he woke up inside, and any monk-like changes just happened by themselves.
