According to Osho, discipline born of ego is simply control and hidden violence: the will to impose an ideal on oneself or others, as with Gandhi’s coercive ‘nonviolence.’ It strengthens separateness and breeds harshness. Authentic order cannot be forced; it flowers from understanding and freedom, not from willpower. Drop egoic ideals, and a gentle, spontaneous discipline appears.
