How can freedom be misused?

According to Osho, freedom is misused when you use it to renounce itself, choosing fatalism, security, and rationalizations that hide your wounds. Man is born as freedom; yet out of fear of risk we write chains on our clean slate, accept slavery, lethargy and despair, and turn life's creative adventure into a self-made prison.

You are free, but if you’re scared, you might use that freedom to lock yourself in a cage by believing you have no choice.
