According to Osho, souls don’t consciously choose suffering; only an enlightened soul is truly free—and it doesn’t re-enter any body, because every body is a prison. Rebirth into painful conditions happens to the unconscious, whose fixations, beliefs, and attractions (e.g., idealizing poverty) magnetize matching wombs and lives. Awareness breaks this mechanical pull; without it, conditioning selects, not freedom.
