In what sense is knowledge that comes from the outside regarded as deadly?

Knowledge from the outside is merely a shadow; true understanding blooms only from the depths of your own being.

— Osho
According to Osho, ‘knowledge’ from outside isn’t knowledge at all but secondhand information. Real knowing is a living quality of the soul and can only arise from within. Borrowed ideas are lifeless; they clutter the mind and eclipse direct insight, making you dependent on others’ conclusions—therefore ‘deadly’ to your own awakening and authentic understanding.

Taking ideas from others gives you facts, but only what you discover inside is real knowing—and copying others can smother your own seeing.
