According to Osho, duality is sustained by thought: whatever appears within is thought, and the moment consciousness has an object, there is a seer and the seen. Awareness itself is distinct from thought and, when freed of all objects, turns back upon itself. As thoughts dissolve, content vanishes, and consciousness knows itself—nonduality, or self-knowledge—where no other remains to divide the knower and the known.
Thoughts make two sides—me and what I see; when thoughts stop, only the seeing stays, and it knows itself as one.
