According to Osho, the three fundamental desires are for wealth/possessions (Marx), sex/pleasure (Freud), and power/prestige (Adler)—three faces of one root urge born of self-ignorance. Not knowing ourselves, we chase money, sensuality, and domination to mask inner emptiness and borrow identity from others’ praise. Self-knowing dissolves the triangle; awareness ends the compensatory chase.
We run after money, sex, and power because we don’t know ourselves; when we truly know ourselves, the running stops.
