According to Osho, enlightenment doesn’t require adopting belief in an external God; what matters is awakening to the godliness within and in all. Buddha and Mahavira denied a separate God yet were 'supreme theists' because they realized everything is divine. True theism is non-dual awareness, not belief. Thus an atheist, rejecting a sky God, can awaken fully.
