The politician pretends to be somebody; the religious person already knows and needs no power. Power games pervade not just governments but families, offices, and even spiritual ambition; true religion moves beyond all such hierarchy-seeking.
Politics tries to prove you’re important; religion lets go of that need because you already feel complete inside.
