According to Osho, praying for a soul’s ‘peace’ is a misunderstanding. Peace and unrest belong to the mind; the soul abides in a third state—bliss—beyond pleasure and pain, beyond all dualities. Prayer has value only insofar as it quiets the mind, dissolving tension and allowing the soul’s innate bliss to shine; the soul itself needs no pacification.
The soul doesn’t get happy or sad; prayers are really to calm our busy minds, not to fix the soul.
