What is the nature of self and giving?

True giving arises from the emptiness of self, where possession is an illusion and everything flows freely; in this surrender, we discover the divine.

— Osho
According to Osho, the self is fundamentally nothingness; the ego - only a trembling in-between - creates the illusion of having or giving. From emptiness you possess nothing, yet everything can flow; true giving is transmission without ownership, and true receiving is surrender. Moving from negative lack to positive emptiness dissolves ego, shifting you from worldliness to the divine.

You don’t really own anything; when you drop the little “me,” you can receive everything and naturally share without trying.
