According to Osho, when you become attached to a master's physical peculiarities you mistake devices and personality for essence, remain at the periphery, and miss the Master himself. Attachment to outer garb or quirks blinds you, makes you vulnerable to decoys, and prevents the leap beyond mind that his presence and total love are meant to trigger.
If you fixate on a guru’s looks or quirks, you chase the decoy and miss the real guide within.
