According to Osho, sadness and despair are not in life—they arise in us from egoic separation and future-bound hopes. Life is a cosmic celebration; we feel misery when the ego seeks victory and demands the impossible. Despair is hope’s shadow. Dissolve the ego, relinquish craving and projection, become an instrument of the Divine, and live choicelessly in the present—then sadness disappears.
Life isn’t sad; our own me-centered thoughts and future wishes make it feel that way—let go, rejoin the whole, and the sadness fades.
