According to Osho, many German sannyasins avoid European communes because the German psyche still carries Adolf Hitler’s shadow—an ingrained, oppressive conditioning. At his commune they feel uniquely respected, loved, dignified, and begin to relax, tasting a freer atmosphere. Returning to Europe would re-immerse them in the same collective imprint, so they prefer to stay where healing and deconditioning unfold.
They feel loved and safe at Osho’s commune and don’t want to go back to a German atmosphere still heavy with Hitler’s old shadow.
