What should I do as the depth of meditation grows and I feel countless songs surging in my life-breath?

When meditation deepens and songs surge within you, express it freely—sing, dance, and create; let your joy overflow, for in sharing, your essence blossoms.

— Osho
According to Osho, when meditation deepens and songs surge, stop asking what to do—express it. Sing, hum, dance, create; let the inner spring overflow without restraint or perfectionism. Share your joy; the more you give, the more it grows. This spontaneous creativity is the very sign and service of meditation—celebrate the Beloved’s nearness and allow your being to blossom.

Let the joy from meditation come out—just sing, dance, and share it naturally without holding back or trying to make it perfect.

Osho, as the depth of meditation grows, it feels as if countless songs are surging to burst forth in my very life-breath! What should I do?

A Christian priest was preparing his sermon. The next day was Sunday, and a big religious festival was approaching; he was busy composing his sermon. His little son sat nearby, watching. Small children have a wisdom that even the old have lost. The dust of a whole lifetime settles so thick that wisdom is lost. Small children have a certain freshness, a vision, a guileless innocence. The little boy said, “Father, a question is arising in my mind. You always say—and last Sunday in church you also said—that the words I speak are not mine; they are God’s.” The father said, “Certainly. I repeat only His words.” Then the boy said, “In that case a question arises: why are you making so many cuts and edits in the sermon you are writing? If these words are His, who are you to edit them? And if you are editing them, how…

Osho, my heart is brimming with joy and grace. What should I do, what should I not do? How can I offer thanks?

Sing, hum, dance, weep! O Vibhavari! The moonlight’s rouge, pollen set in your parting, bind threads of rays into the weight of your soft tresses! O Vibhavari! The breeze roams from land to land, bringing the Beloved’s message— scatter, again and again, the treasure of pearl-like blossoms! O Vibhavari! Take up the gentle wave-lute, some sweet, plaintive, new notes; drunk on the Beloved’s footfalls, sing Malar! O Vibhavari! Let the burden of darkness flow away, let this ember be extinguished; wear a robe of fragrance and a vakula garland! When joy rises, when grace wells up—then sing, pluck the ektara. Don’t worry about meter or measures. If there is ecstasy, that is enough. If you sing, don’t bother whether your voice is like a cuckoo’s or not. If there is feeling, that is enough. If you dance, don’t fret about whether you know how to dance. If there is abandon,…

Beloved Osho, I feel a strong urge to create something in my life. I write songs and would like to sing them. They express my feelings and maybe because I feel you inside me, they also express a little bit of you. Can you please say something about the dividing line between expressing neuroses and the creation of something of beauty? Is it good for me to go on this trip?

And the doctor said one day, "It is not gone, it has come to me! Whole hours listening to you -- the same story! And I know no medicine can work because it has not come from my grandfather it has come from your grandfather, and in the whole literature of homeopathy, there is no mention of what to do if some disease from somebody else's grandfather comes to you. Now I have to suffer. How long will you be staying here?" I said, "As long as you want," because he was free and there would have been no problem. But the next morning the doctor had left to a nearby hill station. After seven days, he phoned. "Is your father still there? Because I am a poor doctor and I cannot manage to stay in this hill station, it is too costly." I said, "He has gone, you can…

So my suggestion is that you become more alive and more healthy. Be more vital so that next time you go into depth you can dive deeper, otherwise you will not be able. And desire will not help -- only energy will help. So create more energy. If you really want to taste what death is, you are longing for a very very deep phenomenon; much energy will be needed. So eat well, breathe well, exercise well, be more vital and alive, and next time you will be able to go deeper. But the experience has been very good. You followed what I said? Good. [The sannyasin then asks: Every time I get to the meditation... I feel I want to do music and writing... start composing.] Allow it... allow it. That's part! Mm? your creativity comes up -- that's part of meditation. Meditation makes people creative.

Osho, sometimes you speak on spirituality, sometimes on society; sometimes on politics, then on science; sometimes you support the scriptures, and at other times you talk of consigning them to the Holi bonfire. This creates all kinds of contradictions, which makes it difficult to understand you. You seem revolutionary, yet your traditional side also shows, because you insist on ochre robes and the mala. Is revolution not possible without sannyas? Can a person not be healthy without the label of sannyas? Is it not enough to be human—just human? This vast organization you are building—what is th

Melaram Asrani! I understand your difficulty. Your difficulty is the difficulty of many; therefore it is worth considering—worth considering seriously.
