According to Osho, sharp memory and intelligence are distinct; equating them is a wrong assumption. A person may remember well without being intelligent, and a wise person may or may not have strong recall. Schools reward memory, not insight, so gold medalists rarely excel creatively. Intelligence is an untested, deeper capacity—understanding, discernment, and awareness—beyond rote retention.
Being great at remembering facts doesn’t mean you’re truly smart; real smartness is about understanding and seeing clearly, not just storing stuff.
