According to Osho, existence is one, but you can touch that oneness either by sinking into unconscious crowd-identity or by rising to superconscious awakening. Ordinary group unity drags you to the “lowest denominator,” dissolving responsibility and intelligence. True evolution is individual: awaken first, then oneness flowers naturally as Buddhahood. Until then, merging with groups only imitates unity through unconsciousness, obstructing real growth.
Joining a group may feel like unity, but it usually means you’ve gone sleepy; real oneness comes only after you wake up as an aware individual.
