According to Osho, when ‘compassion’ seeks acknowledgment, it is ego masquerading as goodness; it humiliates the other, wounds their pride, and invites resentment, not gratitude. True goodness forgets itself—no inner claim of “I did good,” no demand for thanks. Give with love and humility, anonymously if possible, and let others also give to you; only egoless, mutual vulnerability flowers into real communion.
If you help but want praise, people feel small and get upset; help quietly with love, and sometimes let them help you too.
