What happens if you are not the real master? Is it still beneficial to be with you?

A true master does not seek followers; he merely awakens you to your own potential, inviting you to rise from your slumber and discover your own truth.

— Osho
According to Osho, the question of a ‘real master’ is false: he is not a master nor wants disciples. He has simply awakened while you sleep; the gap is small. He will not interfere or demand followership; instead he creates gentle devices—alerts outside your ‘bedroom’—so you can choose to wake up yourself. Being with him is useful only as a mirror and a reminder, never as dependency.

Don’t look for a ‘real master’ to follow; being near him just nudges you to wake up by yourself.
