According to Osho, Gurdjieff divided disciples into three kinds: those who help themselves; those who help themselves and help the master; and those who help the group. Osho adds this division suits a school with a dictatorial master and large group, but in his vision these are not fixed types; each seeker may embody all three qualities at different times.
Gurdjieff said there are students who work on themselves, some who also help the teacher, and some who help the whole group.
