According to Osho, a disciple truly grasps the master’s compassion only when inner dependence has dropped—ultimately with enlightenment. Dependence is a childhood fixation that enslaves the seeker and blocks understanding. He urges declaring freedom now and meditating; independence itself opens the way to enlightenment. Then, without needing the master, gratitude flowers naturally, and the master’s compassion is clearly seen.
You really feel the teacher’s love when you stop leaning on them, stand on your own through meditation, and then gratitude comes by itself.
