Why do some questions receive lengthy answers while others are answered briefly?

The depth of my answer reflects the depth of your awareness; to the alert, a whisper suffices, while the drowsy require a symphony to awaken.

— Osho
According to Osho, answer length depends on the seeker's receptivity. To an 'Arjuna-type' (focused, precise) he gives a brief, targeted reply. To a 'Hanuman-type' (confused, unfocused) he brings the whole mountain: a long, encompassing explanation. He gauges how much each person can truly understand; since most are drowsy in awareness, they need extended guidance to be shaken awake, while the alert require only a word.

He speaks briefly to focused people and at length to those who need more help to understand.
