According to Osho, there is no split: spontaneous action that fulfills a desire is itself the path. Desire is a God-given impulse; enter it totally, consciously. By living it to the very bottom you discover its meaning, and it dissolves, leaving desirelessness. Thus following desire rightly moves you God-wards, not astray.
When a true urge arises, go through it with full awareness; it will end on its own and leave you free.
