According to Osho, shaktipat is authentic only through an egoless medium: when the giver is a “hollow bamboo,” nothing personal interferes, so the energy descends from the spiritual plane rather than producing hypnotic, psychic daydreams. Egolessness in the receiver, too, allows silent receptivity and discrimination, preventing counterfeit sensations and ensuring real inner transformation.
If no ego gets in the way—neither the giver’s nor the receiver’s—true spiritual energy can flow without turning into make-believe experiences.
