According to Osho, the sole prelude to becoming simply silent is an intense, intelligent thirst for truth, first awakened and sharpened by thought; once that longing ripens, thought must be dropped, and in going deeper than mind—where no thoughts remain—silence and truth reveal themselves. Thought cannot deliver truth, only kindle the hunger and later help express it.
First get very thirsty to know what’s true, then stop thinking and be still—silence shows up there.
