According to Osho, Buddhahood itself never arrives by degrees; it erupts in a single, indivisible flash—like lightning. What unfolds gradually is the preparation: ripening through growing contentment. Becoming more contented is not enlightenment but the fertile ground for it. When contentment becomes total, the sudden explosion of awakening happens.
Enlightenment is a one-time lightning flash, but you prepare for it slowly by becoming more and more content with life.
