What is the difference between memory and intelligence?

According to Osho, what we usually call ‘intelligence’ is often just memory—accumulated, second‑hand knowledge from the past. Memory repeats mechanically; intelligence is a living, present awareness that sees freshly and responds spontaneously. Memory is borrowed and dead; intelligence is original, alert, and creative. When you merely recall, it’s memory; when you perceive directly and act from awareness, it’s intelligence.

Memory is old photos in your head; intelligence is looking with fresh eyes and choosing right now.
