According to Osho, Buddhas do not return—enlightenment dissolves the 'I', so there is no one left to reincarnate. Buddha’s prophecy of Maitreya is symbolic: a future Buddha will embody and teach maitri—friendliness—because humanity will need to relearn love and true friendship.
No—once someone becomes a Buddha the self is gone, so there’s no coming back; new Buddhas may arise with the same feel, and today’s call is to grow friendship and love.
