According to Osho, he drinks “soda outside and wine inside”—not alcoholic wine, but the undistilled divine elixir of devotion. Alcohol and other intoxications are substitutes for the deeper urge to drown the ego; they offer only brief forgetfulness. Real freedom comes by dissolving the ego in God’s wine, after which ordinary drinking loses all appeal.
I don’t mean booze; I drink the inner joy of the Divine, which makes alcohol unnecessary.
