Lyrics

oosho apane haathon se, pila rahe prabhu ka pyaala

rang-birangee bagiya jaisee, chahak rahee yah madhushaala

rah na sakega aaj piye bin, rind koee bhee matavaala

girana nahin sambhalana pag-pag, sikha rahee hai madhushaala

hari-sumiran kee meethee madira, hosh yahaan ka hai pyaala

divy lok mein pahunchaatee, ik ghoont samaadhi kee haala

osho khud saakee ban kar, pila rahe nit prabhu-haala

chhalak rahee hai surabhit madira, bula rahee hai madhushaala

Meaning in English

With his own hands Osho is pouring the cup of the divine; like a many-coloured garden, this tavern is alive with song.

No reveller drunk with joy can stay without drinking today; this tavern teaches us not to fall but to keep our balance at every step.

The sweet wine is the remembrance of the divine, and awareness is the cup here; one sip of the wine of samadhi carries you to the heavenly world.

Osho himself has become the cup-bearer, pouring the wine of the divine every day; the fragrant wine is brimming over, and the tavern is calling.

As in Sufi poetry, the wine and the tavern (madhushala) stand for divine intoxication: the drink is remembrance and awareness.
