According to Osho, we keep getting entangled in futile pursuits out of fear of our inner emptiness. Busyness props up the ego and distracts us from the ‘abyss’ where the sense of ‘I’ melts. Chasing big roles, status, and power compensates for inner inferiority. True courage is to sit silent, meet the void through meditation, let the ego dissolve, and discover the Divine’s radiance as contentment.
We stay busy with unimportant things because we’re scared to feel empty inside; if we sit quietly and face it, the fear and ego fade and we feel peaceful.
