Osho on What is true repentance?

What is true repentance?

True repentance is not about guilt, but awakening to your actions, taking responsibility, and directly seeking to mend what has been broken.

— Osho
According to Osho, true repentance is not guilt-ridden confession to a priest or God, but waking from forgetfulness: becoming aware of any harm you actually caused and going directly to the person to ask forgiveness and make amends. Most 'sins' are natural or mere mistakes; repentance means growing in awareness, taking responsibility, repairing relationship, and refusing priestly bondage.

Real repentance means noticing you hurt someone, saying sorry to them, and becoming more aware so you don’t repeat it—no guilt trips or priests needed.
