I’m moving from just giving ideas or feelings to helping you change your whole life, even if it’s uncomfortable.

Beloved master, would you please speak more about the new phase of your work? Sri ramakrishna, sri raman, and even j. Krishnamurti, appear one-dimensional. Did gurdjieff attempt a multidimensional approach? Was it the cause of his being so greatly misunderstood?
In the Middle Ages the mystics disappeared behind the garb of alchemy; they had to disappear because of the Christians. The Christians were destroying all kinds of sources which were in any way in conflict with Christian ideology. They were not allowing anybody to practice anything else; even to talk about anything else was not permitted: "Christianity and only Christianity is the way." The mystics had to disappear. They created a beautiful deception, they created the idea of alchemy. They started saying, "We are alchemists; we have nothing to do with spirituality. All that is rot. We are seeking and searching for the secret of immortal life, of eternal youth. We are trying to find ways and means to transform base metals into gold." And just to deceive the public they made chemistry labs. If you had entered into an alchemist's world, you would have encountered jars and medicines and…
Beloved Osho,
AT THE START OF THE CAMP YOU SAID YOU WERE MOVING INTO A NEW PHASE OF YOUR WORK. WE'VE FELT IT IN MEDITATION, BUT MOST IMPORTANT, YOU'VE CHANGED THE WAY YOU SPEAK TO US. AT ONE TIME, FOR EXAMPLE, YOU NEVER ADMITTED TO BEING AN ENLIGHTENED MASTER, AND NOW YOU DO. COULD YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THIS NEW PHASE OF YOUR WORK? I can only say things which you have become capable of hearing. It depends on you. If you have become a disciple, then I can easily say that I am a master; but if you are not a disciple it will be just meaningless saying to you that I am a master. If somebody comes who is just curious about me, I will not say this to him; it would be pointless. He will not understand; rather, he will misunderstand. When you are ready to receive, only…
Osho, in yesterday’s talk you said that a seeker should first be concerned with becoming a vessel, and should not go about begging from place to place. But the very meaning of a seeker is that he has obstacles in practice. He doesn’t know how to become a vessel, how to prepare. So if he does not go asking, what should he do? How difficult it is to meet the right guide!
But searching and begging are two different things. In fact, the one who does not want to search is the one who begs. Searching and begging are not the same; they are opposites. He who wants to avoid searching begs; a seeker never begs. And the processes of searching and begging are entirely different. In begging you have to keep your attention on the other—the one who will give. In searching you have to keep your attention on yourself—the one who is to receive. It is true that there are obstacles on the path of the seeker. But if we understand rightly, saying there are obstacles on the path of the seeker means the obstacles are within the seeker; the path too is within. And to understand one’s obstacles is not very difficult. So we will have to speak a little more extensively on what the obstacles are and how…
Osho, until now there have been two kinds of seekers. Those who went on the inner journey minimized their relationship with the outer world. Those who set out on conquests in the outer world had no awareness of the inner. You have given us a new dimension of living—that we must complete our journey in both directions. But the sprouts of silence and peace that arise from meditation and satsang get crushed in the external hustle and bustle. And the morbidity and politics we become habituated to in the struggles outside turn into chains on the inner journey. Master, please bless us with the compa
Psychology says: become like Narcissus and you become deranged, ill. And your prevalent approach to the inner journey has been Narcissus-like—close yourself in; you are everything; nothing exists outside you. Close all doors and windows—let no sun, no breeze enter, no moonlight, no starlight; let no sound be heard outside—close the ears, shut the eyes! There are stories of saints gouging out their eyes lest they be attracted by forms, piercing their ears lest music affect them. These are symptoms of derangement. The natural result was that very few people became interested in such a religion—only those slightly unbalanced found a rationale for their imbalance, because madness began to look spiritual. This may surprise you, but remember: in Western countries, where religion’s influence has waned, more people become insane. This gives Indian egotists an opening: “See, although we are poor, lacking science, technology, money, food, jobs, clothes, roofs; diseases, famines,…
I am not in search of another world, something that is beyond death; my effort is to transform this moment now and here into paradise. I am not for postponement. All those people who have been saying "If you are virtuous after death you will be rewarded," are being deceptive because who knows what happens after death? Nobody comes back to tell us. These people who are telling us have not known anything. They are just repeating like parrots. I say to my sannyasins never postpone -- postponement is a very subtle trick of the mind. Live the moment in its totality. Always remember this is the only moment yon have got, there is no other moment, there is no other world. This world is god, there is no other god. Once this vision settles in you it transforms your whole life.
