What is sin and what is virtue?

Sin and virtue are not in the actions themselves but in the consciousness behind them; when awareness is present, even the simplest act becomes an expression of virtue.

— Osho
According to Osho, sin and virtue are not properties of actions but of consciousness. When the inner lamp of awareness is lit, whatever unfolds becomes virtue; when awareness is absent, even ‘good’ deeds are sin, driven by ego, fear, or desire for recognition. Real morality flows from awakened presence, not external rules or appearances; darkness within breeds sin, light within expresses itself as effortless goodness.

If you act from wakeful awareness, it’s virtue; if you act from inner darkness and ego, it’s sin.
