What happens when someone speaks ill of you and you feel hurt?

When someone speaks ill of you, remember that hurt is a choice; refuse to take their words inside, and you remain untouched by their opinions.

— Osho
According to Osho, when someone speaks ill of you, don’t feel hurt; simply refuse to take their words inside. Hurt is a choice born of identification—if you don’t pick it up, it cannot wound you. Stay aware, remain centered, and let the insult pass through. In nonreaction, you keep your inner space untouched and free from others’ opinions.

If someone says bad things about you, don't take it to heart—let it pass and it can't hurt you.
