How do I stay aware in the middle of anger?

Whenever anger comes, I am completely identified with it and only realise afterwards. How can I be aware while it is happening?

Don't try to be aware *of* the anger as an enemy. Next time, just remember to take a few conscious breaths the moment heat rises. Awareness need not be perfect — a single moment of watching is enough to create a gap. The gap grows on its own.

Osho says: do not repress and do not express — witness. In the beginning you will catch it only at the end. Soon you will catch it in the middle, and one day before it even arises. Be patient with yourself.
