"Unique place for a yoga and meditation retreat. I thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable accommodations, tasty food, and knowledgeable instruction. The surrounding green mountains added to the peacefulness of the whole experience."
"a beautiful space for healing, inner connections...and wholesome eating. I absolutely loved my stay at the Retiros de la Montaña. The place brings out tranquillity. Loved the yoga/ mediation class and the breathtaking view of the lagoon. I was there for 4 days and I wish I stayed longer. The retreat I opted for was the general silence/yoga retreat. Communication with Clara before departing for Colombia was smooth. She really cares about your experience and getting into the practice of mediation and reaching your goals. I arrived in the middle of the week and there were others who were already in the midst of their retreat. Clara and Carlos took the time to sit with me on my first morning to tell me about the facility, schedules and discuss my goals. I loved that personal touch and it made me feel at ease and at home. Facility: Breathtaking. You have a beautiful view of a lagoon and there are ducks, dogs, and one sheep on site. The cabins where comfortable and clean. The eating and common area had very warm/homey feel to it. THE FOOD was actually the best cuisine I had throughout my trip in Colombia. It’s loco-vegan- you’d get dishes like oatmeal pancakes to local Colombian dishes (my favourite was soup that had corn, potatoes and beans) Program: Clara and Juan Carlos invite you to really connect inward and get into the practice of mediation. The schedule included yoga classes, meditation classes, walking meditation and silence time. It’s pretty chill and I loved their gentle approach. The mediation/yoga classes really help you get connected and feel calm. Also, my group had a mixture of Spanish and English speakers and they did a great job giving instructions in both languages! Transportation: It’s an hour and half from Bogota airport. Clara helped me arrange for transportation. Franco was super friendly and a safe driver. He picked me up from the airport to the retreat and back. I decided to extend my retreat by one day and Clara went above and beyond to accommodate me. I also ended up going to a local community event in Sesquile that another retreat goer was invited to. I will definitely come back and the next time I’ll probably take a retreat/local tourism plan. The people that run this place are just kind, generous and very loving ....you will feel it! Thank you to Clara, Juano Carlos and the team!"
"I came to this retreat looking for a space to disconnect from my routine and find relief from a period of stress and anxiety I was going through. And I was pleasantly surprised. Our incredible guides/teachers take care of every detail of the experience from beginning to end, which is evident in every aspect. The place is absolutely spectacular; the video doesn't do justice to its beauty. Each space is energetic, the decor, layout, and furniture harmonize perfectly to create a welcoming atmosphere. The sauna and jacuzzi are the perfect finishing touch to close the day. Each activity has profound meaning and is designed with precision, allowing for a fluid and enriching experience. The combination of Juan's yoga practices and Clara's meditation is perfect, like yin and yang, in total harmony. The agenda is delicately designed, and each activity begins and ends at its precise time. In the spaces of silence, where I initially felt somewhat afraid, I found the opportunity to explore my strengths and weaknesses. It was a gift to be able to hear my thoughts so clearly. The mountain hike on the last day was a special moment of connection with nature and with my fellow travelers, people who vibrate in the same way, gentle, open, and generous. Without a doubt, I would take a retreat with La Montaña Retreats again without a second thought. It was a transformative experience that allowed me to reconnect with myself and find inner peace in a caring and safe space."
"It's a phenomenal experience; meditation, exercise (yoga, and various techniques), and introspection (silence) are a must in our lives. Mountain retreats focus on meditation with the mindfulness technique and guidance of Clara Lucia, and physical exercises connect the body's vital energy with the mind through various yoga techniques led by Juan Carlos. Both are exceptional partners who guide you, regardless of your level of previous experience (zero, beginner, or advanced), in these areas. You always learn something new. The spaces at Hacienda el Potrero are truly unique, and the photos speak for themselves."
"I took their MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Management) course and learned a lot about meditation and yoga. It's a highly recommended course and a real gift to yourself. I'm signing up for one of their retreats next year."
