"Such an amazing place! It’s a remote location so you get to experience the peace, the quietness and the nature. You can see and hear the ocean from a distance. But what makes it truly magic is the way this place is managed. You can sense someone cares about it all and about the guests. The service is very nice and friendly. They accommodate whatever you ask for to make your stay even better. And the food is just something else. Truly flavorful and exciting each day. We were there on a couples retreat and to be honest - I don’t think we experienced venue as great as this one before."

"This place is a gem in the middle of nature. With a vast view of pine nut trees with there round shapes until the Atlantic ocean. When clear weather you can see the waves from the shala and the view point. You can here the ocean every day, especially staying at the dormitory you have the privilege to enjoy it all. The food is healthy, plenty and amazing, the venue has different areas for big groups(ours was 40 people) the pool is small but cozy and refreshing. The showers are deliciously warm. I loved my stay and my course, we stayed 28 days and it was fantastic, thank you Carina, Carlos, the cat and the kitchen crew...and also Luis who keeps the property in shape!"

"Monte Velho retreat center is a peaceful haven but above all it has THE BEST VEGETARIAN FOOD I have ever eaten across all of EUROPE ! It’s fresh, healthy, heart warming, belly-hugging, and the chef really cooks like it’s for their own family. The Shaala or main space for the retreat has an amazing sacred ambience and the views from the cliffs of the ocean are stunning. We also enjoyed many closeby hikes around the center. The founders run the place with purpose and passion."
