"The European Art of Living centre in the midst of Black Forest is truly a paradise. My time there was serene, beautiful and enriching. The people at the centre were kind enough to pick me up and very friendly. I stayed during Christmas and New Year in the centre and met really wonderful people from all over the world - 'one world family' - indeed! The Ayurvedic food that was served was healthy, tasty and most importantly nourishing to your soul! I also met some cute and friendly cats behind the centre. It's a great place to do a silence retreat or any course for that matter. I cannot wait to go back and make new memories."
"I've had the great pleasure of visiting the Art of Living European Ashram many times for the weekly Sudarshan Kriya follow-up and for Satsangs, as well as staying there twice for knowledge talks with Gurudev and for a Silence course. All my visits there have always been amazing, where to start?! The surroundings of course are just truly beautiful with all that vibrant nature all around, the Ashram is very peaceful and welcoming, the teachers, the people doing Seva are all welcoming, helpful and friendly and the food is amazing! On a deeper level the experiences l've had there have been so positive, there are no words to really describe what it gives you and it's something everyone should have the chance to experience for themselves!"
"I visited the retreat Center in Bad Antogast few times already and it’s a really nice place, very beautiful, and it has a very relaxing vibe. The best things I enjoyed was food and meditations. I did few courses and can recommend a silence retreat to anyone, cause you can calm down and relax very well, and it’s very detox like in each sense. And actually I’m very sensitive to weather and cold and when it’s winter I don’t like to go out too much, but it doesn’t apply to Bad Antogast, cause the nature here is so beautiful and charming even in winter, during the dark and cold time period of the year it is still incredibly beautiful. Last time I was in winter here and it was even very foggy and it was breathtaking wonderful. A definite a 10 of 10 recommendation 💯🤩"
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve visited the European Center of the Art of Living in the Black Forest many times over the years — for silence retreats, seva, and simply to reconnect — and it has truly become an oasis of peace and joy for me. Seva here is a unique form of volunteering rooted in the ashram spirit: contributing through selfless service while sharing meaningful time with others. It’s not just helping out — it’s connecting, learning, and growing together. The Ayurvedic food is consistently some of the most nourishing and delicious I’ve experienced anywhere — wholesome, vibrant, and clearly prepared with care. Add to that the fresh spring water in the area (including an iron-rich natural source), and you feel deeply supported in body as well as mind. One of my personal highlights is satsang — the evening gatherings of music, bhajans, and shared wisdom. As someone who’s always been a bit shy about singing, these moments gently helped me open my voice and enjoy expressing myself without hesitation. The surroundings are equally special — peaceful forest walks in summer, meditative snow landscapes in winter — all contributing to a calm, uplifting atmosphere created by the people and community there. Whether you come for yoga, breathing practices, courses, or simply some stillness, I can wholeheartedly recommend experiencing this place for yourself."
"The AOL European Centre in the Black Forest is a truly special place. The programs are well structured and deeply impactful, and the meditation sessions are powerful and grounding. Being surrounded by the calm, natural beauty of the Black Forest adds a sense of serenity that’s hard to put into words. The overall vibe is peaceful, supportive, and uplifting — it’s the kind of environment that helps you disconnect from everyday noise and reconnect with yourself. An incredible experience that stays with you long after you leave."
