"Beautiful relaxing, calming, healing, and overall great hotel. The venue backdrop of the mountains and the nature as soon as you walk in. The hotel rooms are lovely with a fireplace and outdoor sitting area, large showers, and always starts your day with a basket of cookies, tea, and coffee and ends with turn down. The hotel pool & bar has great food, drinks, and service you won’t want to leave and same goes for the hotel breakfast & dinner. If you are a wellness lover they offer yoga twice a day with meditation beforehand and the spa with a long list of massages, treatments, and even holistic rituals. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough if you were looking for a peaceful getaway only an hour and a half outside of Mexico City."
"A beautiful hotel in the mountains. Wish we had stayed longer. Only stayed one night. Beautiful setting, delicious food and lovely room. Staff all super friendly as well. Unfortunately we didn’t realise that the temple nearby was closed on Monday and Tuesday so for the walk up the gate was closed at the top. Would like to come back again and stay a few days more and go to the spa."
"My husband and I stayed at Amomoxtli from a Sunday to Wednesday as part of our honeymoon, and absolutely loved our experience! Every member of staff was kind and attentive, especially Edguardo, who helped us as we arrived, and continued to check on us throughout our stay. Since Tepoztlán is more of a weekend town for tourists, we decided to take advantage of the hotel and stayed put for the majority of our stay. We ate every meal at the hotel for two and a half days, and were very happy with each selection. Whether it was pizza served by the pool or breakfast or dinner served in the restaurant, each meal was top quality. We also scheduled services at the spa for a massage and facial each. Again, we were so pleased with our services! The technicians are welcoming and are sure to explain what your service will entail, and asked about any worries. Amomxtli also hosts little events and workshops throughout the week, which are a nice way to change up your routine if you intend to laze around the property for the entirety of your stay. I attended a morning yoga class and it was the ideal relaxing way to start the day. The hotel and surrounding scenery are truly stunning, and the staff worked quietly in the background to ensure it stayed that way. The suite we stayed in was cozy and quiet, and anything we needed arrived within minutes of calling the front desk. I really couldn't rave about this place and staff enough! If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we'll be sure to book in for a few more days."
"This hotel is extremely overpriced and markets itself as a high-end boutique property, but in reality it is luxury in name only. The gap between the price and the actual experience is striking and disappointing. There are virtually no complimentary amenities. Not even basic soft drinks such as milk or soda water are provided, and every small necessity comes with an additional charge. This level of cost-cutting feels cheap and completely out of place for a hotel charging premium rates. The property is located far from the town center, yet no complimentary transportation or shuttle service is offered. For a hotel at this price point, this should be a basic standard, not an extra expense pushed onto guests. Overall, the experience feels misleading, poorly managed, and far below any genuine luxury standard. The service, amenities, and value simply do not justify the cost. This hotel is not worth the price, and I would strongly recommend choosing elsewhere."
"Pros: 24hr guarded entrance, free gourmet breakfast, all natural food ingredients, breathtaking views, infinity pool, beautiful grounds, abundant staff with someone ready to help 24/7, mid-day room refresh, amazing room design Con1: thin walls as you can practically hear everything next door Con2: very strict checkout, as I was called at 12:09, then 12:15. Tired of being called, by 12:20 I was on the patio finishing stuffing my suitcase. At the patio, however, someone already sat over me with walkie talkie and providing someone else real time minute-by-minute updates on my progress. This person "supervised" me and did not leave until he saw me off the patio, which I found strange situationally for a hotel costing more than the Ritz."
