Core Insight:
According to Osho, no—you can be a student without sannyas, but not a disciple. A disciple drops mere curiosity and inquisitiveness and embraces mumuksha: a burning thirst to experience, not just know. Sannyas means bowing, surrendering, cupping the hands to drink the Divine, and risking the thorns of transformation. Without this courageous self-effacement, discipleship remains impossible.
