According to Osho, there is absolutely no place for renunciation in his teaching. Renunciation is repression—the forced dropping of desires—which drives them into the unconscious, making them stronger and returning as perversions (e.g., sex turning into greed or ambition). Instead, cultivate awareness: see impulses clearly, let understanding dissolve them. When seen in full light, the unnecessary drops by itself; nothing is violently discarded.
