According to Osho, diffidence is a mask of the ego—fear of 'what will the other think.' In the true Master–disciple intimacy it must drop even before enlightenment, and with realization it disappears completely. Before the Master, nothing is hidden: ugliness or beauty, darkness or light. What remains after knowledge is effortless openness, gratitude, and reverential love—without etiquette, shyness, or formality.
