According to Osho, liberation is only possible in human birth because humans uniquely inhabit the tension of pleasure and pain. In heaven (all pleasure) no renunciation arises; in hell (all pain) resignation dulls effort. Human suffering breaks stupor while hope energizes practice. This mixed condition awakens the urge to transcend both, making awareness and liberation possible—without superiority, with humility.
