What is the significance of a yagna?

According to Osho, a yagna’s true significance is an inner fire where you offer your ego, hypocrisy, and second-hand beliefs to awareness; it is not the priest-managed spectacle that politicians and pandits use to enslave souls. Genuine yagna is lived as simplicity, creativity, meditation, and love—direct experience beyond parroting scriptures. When reclaimed inwardly, it liberates the soul; when outsourced to ritualists, it becomes bondage.
