According to Osho, the body contains forces of life (oxygen/prana) and inertia (carbon dioxide). When the inner ratio tilts toward oxygen—via pranayama or bhastrika—sleeping energies awaken and kundalini is stirred; when carbon predominates (as at night), tamas and sleepiness increase. Raising prana/oxygen amplifies wakefulness, preventing energies from sinking and catalyzing inner ascent.
