According to Osho, it's no cosmic joke: most of us are born not in awareness but in innocent ignorance, live like sleepwalkers, and die unconscious. Only a rare few are born aware (or attain awareness in life), so their death is conscious; birth and death mirror each other. Conscious birth virtually guarantees enlightenment; otherwise unconscious birth, life, and death simply continue.
