According to Osho, compassion discriminates not from coldness but from wisdom: truth can nourish only a ready, thirsty heart. Pouring on upturned bowls wastes water and may even suppress future thirst. Hence the master serves the few whose vessels are upright—those with mumuksha—digging deep rather than scattering shallow pits, trusting that their flowering will later awaken inquiry and thirst in the many.
