Living is love Thy Will Be Done #1

Date: 1970-10-10
Discourse Overview
Main Teaching: Osho's handwritten poem makes a single audacious claim: to live is to be love, an inner flowering arising in the deep lake of silence where gladness glides like a warm, unheard song. The poem's imagery — an open sky attentive under 'thy gaze', fog of doubt dissolving, and the fragrant breeze revealing the 'pollen of bliss' — points to a seamless union of awareness, surrender and ecstatic innocence. Living is presented not as a moral duty but as a natural alchemy in which the lake (silence), the lotus (beauty) and the unseen lover (love-consciousness) merge into a single lightening thrill. Thus the spiritual path is not accumulation but relaxation into presence where doubt melts and life itself becomes song. On silence: silence is the rich ground, not absence but a deep lake whose stillness allows gladness and the warm breath of love to arise. On love: love is the living core, an inner lover that is not another but the same awareness recognizing itself and humming an unheard song. On doubt: doubt is a fog removable by the gaze of wakeful presence, its melting revealing the sweet pollen of bliss rather than proving or disproving anything. On union/meditation: meditation is this effortless merging where subject, object and the experience of rapture collapse into one 'lightening thrill' — living as love is the consummation of meditation.

Osho's Commentary

[The following is a poem in Osho's handwriting, which he wrote specially for this booklet of poems by Rati Sett.]

LIVING IS LOVE

when gladness glides
in the deep lake of silence,
warm breath of love
hums an unheard song.

when open sky is wide awake
under thy gaze
fog of doubt melts away
and, fragrant breeze reveals
the sweet pollen of bliss.
the lake, the lotus
and the unseen lover
merge in one lightening thrill.
